To open my blog officially, I would like to tell you a little about myself and a little about what I would like to do with this blog.
I like to consider myself a writer, even though I have only published online and in school publications. I tell my students they are Writers and Readers, and tend to apply the same terminology to myself. After all, "Read, Read, Read" goes with "Write, Write, Write," as I believe Jane Yolen may have once said. And I intend to :).
To date, I have written over 64 fanfics, at least half a dozen original pieces, and have read scores more. I hope that this blog will encourage me to write enough to outstrip even my reading count--and that may be tough :).
Please do not confuse this blog with anything related to Julia Cameron. She is a very respectable lady as far as I know and it is completely by accident that I happened to name my blog as such. Until I can figure a way to change the blog name (and find a new name to go with it) I will keep this blog titled "Right to Write" for now--hopefully she does not mind :).
As I continue this, I may occasionally post flash fiction, parts of short stories, novels, poems, and perhaps even memoirs, that I will be working on. Any comments or reviews (if I gain readership) will most likely prove invaluable.
Open a tab and scroll in!
A multidimensional blog: I cover anything from reading recommendations, to teacher resources, to original pieces of writing. Of course, there may be days when I shoot out a post on any topic that strikes my interest--be wary of those :). Most of all though, please come in and enjoy!

Salutation
Most poets begin their poetry collections with an invitation ala Robert Frost's "The Pasture." Ancient writers began their epics with an invocation of the muse. I am neither a great poet nor a canon writer, but I do invite you to come in and enjoy my humble offerings :).
