Raging Reads (Recs)

I like to think I can pretty accurately read someone when it comes to reading a book.  Granted, I have to get to know them a little before I can propose a book, but as a teacher, I need to be able to pinpoint my kids interests and direct them towards a "Just Right" book.  Of course, this results in better familiarity with children's books and series than adult reads, or even YA books (Young Adult).

Hopefully, as I flesh out this blog, I will be able to start reviewing books as I read them--it is good practice for a possible freelance job in the future.  The books I have included here are old, familiar friends I return to time and again, or simply books that have made an enormous impact on who I am as a person and as a reader.  Pick and choose at whim--it's A La Carte tonight ;).

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle (Tweens/Young Adult)

Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo (Tweens)

The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau (Young Adult)

The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros (Young Adult)

The Humming Room by Ellen Potter (Tweens/Young Adult)

Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino (Adult)

Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books by Azar Nafisi (Young Adult/Adult)

Rules by Cynthia Lord (Tweens/Young Adult)

Thimble Summer by Elizabeth Enright (Tweens)

I will add more as I go on.  For now, please enjoy!
